Being eco-friendly while skiing? It’s possible!
Environmental Awareness
Keep good habits, even on vacation!
Mountain resorts are among the first to be affected by the impacts of climate change. In addition to the reduction in snowfall, the entire fragile ecosystem of the Hautes-Alpes is threatened by significant temperature changes.
For the small resort of Risoul to thrive for many more years, we must adopt eco-responsible behavior during our stay.
At RisoulSki, we are committed to respecting the environment. In recent years, we have undertaken several initiatives to meet the climate challenge on our scale.

Insulation
In recent years, we have replaced all window frames. As for the seals on doors and windows, they have all been redone this year to achieve maximum insulation in each of our apartments.

Energy
Each radiator is equipped with a reflective panel that redirects heat back into the room. The water heaters are modern and energy-efficient. Additionally, over 80% of our light bulbs are low-energy LED bulbs.

Recycling
We no longer use plastic wrapping to pack sheets and towels. We have opted for reusable household sheets and towels. They may be slightly less aesthetic but are more ecological and of high quality. We have provided waste sorting bags in your apartment. If any are missing, don't hesitate to let us know!
Adopt Good Habits During Your Stay
- Don't overheat your apartment. If you leave during the day, adjust the thermostat. Excessive energy consumption is responsible for a significant portion of the carbon emissions generated by ski resorts.
- Don't leave doors and windows open while heating.
- Sort your waste! When you dispose of your waste in the bins next to your residence, make sure to separate it into the appropriate containers.
- Choose a shower over a bath, and limit the running time of the water.
- Use shuttle services and buses to get around the resort and down to the valley; they are plentiful during the season.
By adopting these simple habits, you help preserve the beauty and sustainability of our mountains. Together, let's ensure that Risoul remains a paradise for future generations!
The planet thanks you!
